Mobile Network Optimization

There are many uncertainties in mobile communication, and these factors have a great impact on mobile communication networks. Thus the continuous network optimization is needed to improve the reliability and availability of the mobile network. It not only improves the quality of services for end users but also brings significant and long term economic benefits for the mobile service providers and the industry.


Mobile communication network becomes more and more complex and operators are providing full services to the end users. But problems arise:

l Bad mobile communication signal distribution

l Low rate of call setup, High rate of call drop

l Low quality of voice and data services

l Customers’ complaint concentrated upon indoor coverage

To solve these problems, the mobile networks should be carefully assessed, evaluated and tested and afterwards take optimization engineering to have better outdoor/indoor coverage to improve the performance of the networks and reduce the end customers' complaint. To achieve this goal, 3 main tasks need to be executed:

The Indoor Distribution System (IDS) can improve the voice and data communication quality within the buildings e.g. residential houses, offices, malls, stadium, airport and underground parking etc. The use of micro cell can share the outdoor macro cell traffic to expand network capacity, reduce the network congestion, and improve the overall mobile network service level. IDS can adopt different types according to different scenarios:

Optical Fiber IDS (MDAS)
Leakage Cable IDS
and macro cell, micro cell, BBU+RRU and repeaters can be used  as signal sources of IDS.

The passive RF IDS and MDAS are often used by the global mobile network operators:

load, omni indoor antenna, panel antenna, RF cable etc.
